Solving the problem
The opportunity here is to create an entirely new way to
ride the mountains i.e. snowboarding with out binds or any other binding
mechanism. The product I am proposing is basically a skateboard deck with more
concave on both the nose and tail of the board. The board has potential to have
variances depending on the conditions it is meant to be used in. Variances
could include things such as groves on the bottom for riding in harder more
packed snow such as what you would find at a ski resort or possibly a larger
wider board for deep snow that you could find in the back country. The unique
aspect of this board would be the breaking mechanism. Basically the idea is to
use a traditional ski break system to pair with a Bluetooth device or something
of that nature, to where if the board goes out of range of the rider it
automatically releases the ski break in turn stopping the board from sliding
down the hill.
The product you describe does sound very "chill". As a skier (I tried snowboarding a couple of times - much harder to master), I love the idea of a snow sport modular product i.e. add a packed surface kit or a powder kit. You clearly understand the gap in the marketplace and you obviously care about snowboarding based on the detail you give. My feedback is that your product seems to have a lot going on; the ski break feature feels tacked on. The innovation of turning a snowboard into a skateboard and modular kits is enough.
