The segment here are snowboarders who also skate and surf. The need for this product becomes salient when riders realize that they can ride a mountain in a different way then ever before, which in essence is closer to the feeling of skating or surfing. There must obviously be snow either at a resort or in the backcountry with powder are the potential places for one to become aware of this need   In this market one might have checked out a local ski shop for different products. Perhaps   having heard about it through word of mouth or seeing something similar before, someone may conduct research through the various online retailers of products such as this. In summary this is a need that requires a preexisting knowledge of boarding and can only be understood by a ceriman group of people. Very little information searches are being conducted because lack of awareness for this idea.

napkin idea

My background regarding this idea is that I surf, skate, skim. In this way I have unique skill set which allows me to ride any type of board. I would love to see this idea come to fruition one day where it could become apart of my life, I would like to learn how to shape boards, and branch into other board sport industries. I am offering an alternative to other existing ways of riding a mountain. This gives riders the ability to experience the slopes in totally new way. I am offering it to snowboarders, particularly snowboards that perhaps have a history either skateboarding or surfing or both. This product gives rider the ability to free ride in a whole new way. With an electrically paired breaking system the rider is able ride completely free from the board. This board will have a breaking mechanism built in where it can stop itself if the rider goes out of range of the connection.

Solving the problem

The opportunity here is to create an entirely new way to ride the mountains i.e. snowboarding with out binds or any other binding mechanism. The product I am proposing is basically a skateboard deck with more concave on both the nose and tail of the board. The board has potential to have variances depending on the conditions it is meant to be used in. Variances could include things such as groves on the bottom for riding in harder more packed snow such as what you would find at a ski resort or possibly a larger wider board for deep snow that you could find in the back country. The unique aspect of this board would be the breaking mechanism. Basically the idea is to use a traditional ski break system to pair with a Bluetooth device or something of that nature, to where if the board goes out of range of the rider it automatically releases the ski break in turn stopping the board from sliding down the hill.

Who: Various ski resorts will be considerably less receptive to new technologies such as this one. Some ski resorts are still very traditional in thier ways and cater only or primarily to skiers. What: The point that this idea varies from other needs is the limitation of being attached to the board. With other similar products the rider is attached to the board by a leash. One other similar product though is basically composed on the same premise, except it is primarily meant for flat land snow skating with no breaking system included for downhill riding. Why: The main difference here is to be completely free from anything that binds the rider to the board. Inside the boundary Who is in: People who both skateboard and snowboard What the need is: To be able to ride a board with no binding mechanism Why the need exists: Snowboarding was invented by surfers, this idea is bringing snowboarding closer than ever, back to its roots. ...

testing hypothesis

Snowskate Who: Snowboarders and skateboarders alike The what: Do not have a snowboard that allows the rider to be unbound from the board (like when riding a skateboard), while also having a mechanism that stops the board when the rider falls off unlike the traditional method which is to simply attach leash attached to the rider’s ankle. The why: Technological challenges as well as lack of innovation. Testing the who: I believe that boarders alike wishing to experience the snow in a new way, all share this need, from powder surfing (deep snow), to riding packed powder (hard snow), or anything in-between, snowskating will revolutionize the way boarders experience the snow. Testing the what: The boundaries of this include board and technology limitations as well as rider and condition limitations. Testing the why:   There has been a few companies with very similar products, but nothing that has combined all the listed elements presented i.e. no bindings. This is pu...

opportunities in economical and regulatory trends

According to an article in Health Catalyst, there is an increasing need to improve patient satisfaction ratings. I believe this starts with our health care system. With the initiation of the affordable Health Care Act in 2013 the goal was for all Americans to have health care. According to the latest Giallup -Health ways poll there are 11.3 percent of US adults who do not have healthcare in the first quarter of 2017. There was such a negative impact on healthcare leaving many Americans with higher premiums and disparities in insurance coverage. In 2014, the government was providing healthcare to 115.4 million people through Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Administration. The opportunity is to form a uniform health system and truly provide affordable healthcare to all Americans. This would be a difficult venture however we are in desperate need of major changes in our health care reform. According to an article from business insider titled “Baby Boomers are retiring- and its goin...
