opportunities in economical and regulatory trends
According to an article in Health Catalyst, there is an
increasing need to improve patient satisfaction ratings. I believe this starts
with our health care system. With the initiation of the affordable Health Care
Act in 2013 the goal was for all Americans to have health care. According to
the latest Giallup -Health ways poll there are 11.3 percent of US adults who do
not have healthcare in the first quarter of 2017. There was such a negative
impact on healthcare leaving many Americans with higher premiums and disparities
in insurance coverage. In 2014, the government was providing healthcare to
115.4 million people through Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Administration.
The opportunity is to form a uniform health system and truly provide affordable
healthcare to all Americans. This would be a difficult venture however we are
in desperate need of major changes in our health care reform.
According to an article from business insider titled “Baby
Boomers are retiring- and its going to have a huge impact on the economy”. The
fact that baby boomers are not retiring at 65 due to lack of savings, is making
it hard for the next generation to find jobs. Opportunity lies in the educating
the millennial generation on the importance of saving and planning for their
retirement to avoid a repeat occurrence of this economical hardship. This
opportunity could be utilized by the baby boomers who stayed on track and have
their portfolio in place for retirement.
According to an article by Kimberly Amadeo the federal reserve
plans to raise short -term rates this year and next. Because of this increase
there will be many economic changes. It would be relatively easy for any Americans
to capitalize on the increasing interest rates by putting more money into money
marketing accounts and CD’s.
In the next few years it is said that gold will be playing
and important part in in things such as electrification, connectivity with
devices, and applications in healthcare. Gold has been at the heart of our
societies for millennials and won’t be going anywhere in the future, there is opportunity
in investing in gold today as there always has been.
Hi John!
ReplyDeleteOverall you did a good job identifying the trends and opportunities that come along with them. I really thought your comments on health care and the opportunities there were very on point. Additionally, I liked what you were saying about the baby boomers, too, I also discussed this and its impacts/opportunities in my post! My only criticism for this post would be formatting. You accomplish all the assignment requirements, but your post is somewhat hard to follow and you don’t tell the reader what regulatory trends vs economic trends you are discussing. Other than that, great post!
