testing hypothesis
Snowskate
Who: Snowboarders
and skateboarders alike
The what: Do not
have a snowboard that allows the rider to be unbound from the board (like when
riding a skateboard), while also having a mechanism that stops the board when the
rider falls off unlike the traditional method which is to simply attach leash
attached to the rider’s ankle.
The why:
Technological challenges as well as lack of innovation.
Testing the who: I
believe that boarders alike wishing to experience the snow in a new way, all share
this need, from powder surfing (deep snow), to riding packed powder (hard
snow), or anything in-between, snowskating will revolutionize the way boarders experience
the snow.
Testing the what: The
boundaries of this include board and technology limitations as well as rider and
condition limitations.
Testing the why: There has been a few companies with very
similar products, but nothing that has combined all the listed elements
presented i.e. no bindings. This is purely due to lack of innovations.
Summary: After
the interviews I better understood the limitations of the opportunity and how
to possibly meet those limitations.
Hi John,
ReplyDeleteI think you have a great opportunity here. I think you have definitely identified people who this appeals to, what the issue is, and answers why the opportunity exists. I have never snowboard, but I am sure that to someone who frequently snowboards, this is probably something that they would be interested in. I would suggest that you include your interviews in your post next time. I think the interviews can really help you develop insight as to what the market is like for your opportunity. Showing your interviews in your blog also helps the readers understand the opportunity better. Overall though, I think you have a great opportunity identified.
Hi John,
ReplyDeleteOverall, I thought this was a really interesting idea you proposed! While I’m not really into skating/snowboarding, I do have cousins who are, and they would defiantly fall in to your who. I liked that you included explanations of you testing the who/what/why and gave us a better picture of what this board may look like. The only thing your post could have benefited from was more explanation of the interviews. You didn’t necessarily have to include each one separately but having a few sentences giving a picture of the 5 interviews could have made your post even better and more compelling. Otherwise, great job!
Hi John! Wow I think this idea is very cool. I have never snowboarded or skateboarded they're too difficult for me lol. But I love the idea of combining the two. It is clear you have really thought this through and it seems like you have a good vision of where and how you want to take this venture of yours.
